NAVFAC Northwest awards $1 billion multiple award construction contract

Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Northwest awarded a $1 billion small business indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, multiple-award-construction contract Sept. 24. The majority of the work will take place in Washington state with a Sept. 2028 completion date.

This acquisition vehicle arrives on the heels of a record-setting fiscal year in which NAVFAC Northwest already awarded $1 billion in contract actions, reflecting an unprecedented era of recapitalization across regional naval infrastructure.

"This contract positions the Navy and our business partners to move with greater speed and agility throughout the acquisition lifecycle," said Capt. Bob Stiles, NAVFAC Northwest Commanding Officer. "Whether advancing monumental recapitalization efforts under the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP), bolstering the infrastructure that underpins our Navy's Nuclear Deterrence Mission, or executing high-priority military construction and facility sustainment projects, this contracting capability ensures we deliver mission-ready shore platforms to the Fleet when and where they need them the most."

By establishing a pre-qualified pool of vetted small business prime contractors, the MACC substantially shortens procurement lead times for upcoming requirements. Projects awarded under the contract will encompass new design and construction for waterfront facilities, operational infrastructure, industrial support shops, quality of life improvements, and airfield systems, among other scope elements.
